The AI Workspace: Build, Edit and Repeat With the Builder Chat
The AI Workspace now opens full-screen on the Builder chat. Watch the AI's reasoning and tool steps, see builds in a side canvas, edit what it made by chat, create custom Experts and Skills, and save chats as reusable Recipes.
Working with AI often means a lot of back and forth around the actual work: describing what you want, waiting without knowing what the AI is doing, then starting over when one detail is wrong. The AI Workspace is built to cut that out. It now has its own place in the Mass sidebar, opens full-screen, and is centered on the Builder chat, a chat that shows its reasoning and tool steps as it works and puts what it builds right next to the conversation.
This post walks through what is new and how the pieces fit together. If you want to try it right away, you can start for free. For the full reference, see the AI Workspace guide.
TL;DR: Open the AI Workspace from the sidebar and work in a full-screen Builder chat. Watch the AI's reasoning and tool steps live, see builds in a resizable side canvas, and ask for changes to anything it already built. Create your own Experts and Skills, save chats that worked as Recipes, and ask the chat questions about your workspace knowing it only reads data.
Opening the AI Workspace
The AI Workspace now has its own top-level menu item in the sidebar, so you can go straight to it. On plans that do not include it, the menu item shows a Pro badge.
When you open it, the workspace fills the screen edge to edge, without the dashboard header and side navigation around it. The focus is on the chat and what it builds.
The Builder chat
The AI Workspace opens on the Builder. As the AI works, the Builder chat streams its reasoning and each tool step, and shows what it creates inline in the chat. You are not left guessing what is happening between your message and the result.
- Model picker. Choose the model for the chat from the full model catalog.
- Live updates. Changes the AI makes to your workspace appear instantly in every open tab.
- AI-written sections. Funnels built in the Builder chat get AI-written copy for each section instead of placeholder text.
- Build progress. While a funnel is built, the section list shows a progress track, a live Building cue and a done/total count.
The side canvas
When the AI starts a build or brings an artifact forward, a resizable canvas slides in next to the chat. You keep the conversation on one side and the work on the other.
- Open in canvas. Artifacts in the chat show an Open in canvas button, so you can bring any of them into view.
- Artifacts and Manage view. See everything the AI has created in your workspace with previews, and browse the funnels, experts and products you have already built.
- Status bar. Versions, Workers, Plans and Artifacts tiles show live counts, with details one click away.
Editing what it built, by chat
Getting a first version is only part of the job. Most of the time goes into changing it. In the AI Workspace, you ask the AI to change something it already built and it edits that artifact in place instead of starting over.
This works for:
- Funnels
- Products
- Documents
- Emails
- Ads
For example, ask the AI to change a headline on a funnel it already built and watch it update in the side canvas. For more on building funnels, see the Funnels guide.
Custom Experts and Skills
You can now create your own AI experts and give them reusable skills. You will find the Experts Library and the Skills Library under AI Setup in the sidebar.
Experts Library
Browse, create, clone, edit and delete custom AI experts. Each expert has its own:
- Persona
- Model
- Allowed tools
- Attached context
Create an expert once, then clone it for each client.
Skills Library
Write reusable skills and choose which tools each expert can use them with. A skill you write once can be used by several experts, so you do not have to write it again for each one.
Recipes: repeat what worked
Recipes are multi-step workflows that run a series of experts in order. Run a recipe from the Recipes tab and follow its live step-by-step progress, or create and edit recipes with their own inputs and steps. The Recipes Library page in the sidebar lets you create, run and manage your recipes.
The quickest way to make one is to start from a chat that already worked:
- Finish a chat that worked. Use the Builder chat to get a result you want to repeat.
- Save chat as Recipe. Turn the Builder chat into a reusable recipe. Repeated values are suggested as inputs.
- Confirm the inputs. Review the suggested inputs and confirm them before saving.
- Run it again. Run the recipe with new inputs whenever you need it.
Asking about your workspace
The Builder chat can look up information from your workspace to answer your questions. These lookups are read-only: the chat only reads data and does not change anything. You can ask about what is in your workspace without worrying that the question itself will alter it.
Also in this release
The same release made the App Builder chat more context-aware. The AI chat can see the page you are previewing, every changed file links straight to its page in the preview, and new Supabase projects are set up and connected for you. The model catalog and API Keys settings also cover the latest GPT, Claude, DeepSeek, Nanobanana, VEO and Seedance models. See the App Builder guide for details.
Frequently asked questions
What is the AI Workspace?
The AI Workspace is where you work with AI in Mass. It has its own entry in the sidebar, opens full-screen without the dashboard header and side navigation, and is built around the Builder chat, which streams the AI's reasoning and each tool step as it works.
Can I change something the AI already built without starting over?
Yes. Ask the AI to change something it already built, such as a funnel, product, document, email or ad, and it edits that artifact in place. For example, ask it to change a headline on a funnel and watch the update appear in the side canvas.
What are Experts and Skills?
Experts are custom AI experts you create in the Experts Library, each with its own persona, model, allowed tools and attached context. Skills are reusable skills you write once in the Skills Library, choosing which tools each expert can use them with, so several experts can share the same skill.
What is a Recipe?
A Recipe is a multi-step workflow that runs a series of experts in order. You can run a recipe from the Recipes tab with live step-by-step progress, create and edit recipes with their own inputs and steps, or save a Builder chat that worked as a recipe and run it again with new inputs.
Can the Builder chat change my workspace data when I ask it a question?
No. When the Builder chat looks up information from your workspace to answer a question, it only reads data and does not change anything.
Start building in the AI Workspace
The AI Workspace brings the chat, the result and the follow-up edits into one full-screen view. Build something in the Builder chat, adjust it by asking, and save the chats that work as Recipes you can run again.
